How do I know whether the software on my navigation system (PNA) is Destinator?
Destinator navigation software can be found on numerous PNA navigation packages sold by our partners. The software is always based on the same technology as our standard PDA software but is, however, customized for the specific PNA device or the local market requirements. PNA navigation solutions with Destinator software can be recognized by the “Destinator navigates” logo on the packaging.

Do I have to register or even activate the software? How and where can this be done?
Registration is optional. It is recommended, however. Registering as a Destinator user gives you access to our community server but is not necessary in order to start using the navigation software.
Activation of maps and or software is necessary to either run the navigation software or use certain maps (only applies to certain map versions and some selected software versions (e.g. Destinator 3)).
Destinator navigation software and its maps do not usually need to be activated before you can use them. In some cases, however, the activation of special country maps is required (see next paragraph). It is our recommendation, however, that you register yourself on our web site. Registration gives you access to special technical downloads.

Map upgrades are available for many PNA solutions. Please check with your device manufacturer or the local resellers in your region for upgrades compatible with your navigation solution.

When I buy a map upgrade do I need to buy one specific map upgrade for my device or can I buy just any Destinator maps?
Due to the device and specific variations of the software version on your PNA, you should only purchase map upgrades that are compatible with your solution. Please check your local reseller for available upgrades.

My display is very slow, what has happened?
Especially in winter / cold weather the device should not be left in the car overnight - neither mounted to the windscreen nor stored in the glove compartment. The cold effects storage cards, processors and display. The display of a cold device reacts slower.
As a rule: mobile navigation devices should not be left in cars. They are a routine cause for auto theft.

I have no/bad GPS reception, what can I do?
PNA devices usually have an integrated GPS receiver.
It can take your device a few moments to check the initial settings when it initially tries to find GPS satellite signals. It is recommended that the first GPS search is carried out while the vehicle is not moving. Please ensure that the device has a clear view of the sky. Driving under bridges and through tunnels can briefly interrupt GPS connection.
Please check that:
The GPS antenna is extended or flipped up.
The GPS antenna has a clear view of the sky for uninterrupted GPS reception. Destinator cannot update the current position if there is no GPS reception (for example, in a tunnel).
The navigation device is charged or connected to the cigarette lighter of your car.
Some car models have a sun-protected windshield that can weaken or block GPS signals. An additional external GPS receiver might be necessary.
